A Barroom in Wyoming
G                                         C
I never planned ahead and look at what I got
Em                                                                      D
A whole lot of hopelessness and a little bit of pot
G                                            C
A little bit of everything or nothing feels the same
Em                                          D
All those years in school and look what I became
C                                                 D
Just another number pushing paper on the phone
      G                                                                    D
What happened to the cowboy, he must be out there alone
G                                          C
Fighting the weather underneath a burning sun
            Em                                   D                      C
While I sit here fighting traffic, a fight that can't be won
Sometimes I think about leaving it all here
Trying to find that cowboy and maybe have a beer
maybe in Montana or Wyoming if he will
Meet me in a bar room and I'll pick up there bill
Because I'l have lots of money from the job I just quit
With this life so far behind me, it should be easy to forget
it should be easy to move on, no expectations and no career
No deadlines to think about just antelope and deer
  C                                                    D
And winter through the mountains I know its cold up here
 G                             C                 Em               D
Just me and the cowboy drinking cold Montana beer
C                                    D
The cowboy in me knows this ain't quite right
           G                                                      C
Man's not supposed to live this way, it shouldn't be a fight
 Em                                        D
It shouldn't be a struggle everyday to make it through
G                         C                            D                             G
So I'm leaving Texas and heading north to drink some brew
G                              C                    D                    G
I said I'm leaving Texas; heading north its overdue
I never planned ahead and look at what I got
A whole lot of happiness and a whole lot of pot
All it took was leaving on a Friday afternoon
A final goodbye gesture they all expected soonThat was that and I was gone up the highway blowing smoke
Never looking back again, blend in like mountain folk
Looking for a mountain cowboy whose been hounding me to go
Forget about the city life that LI left long ago
I left for the mountain streams everyday as I sat there
Staring at a computer screen while playing solitaire
God its so refreshing to be outside with the sky
Drinking beer with a cowboy, while I listen to him lie
And tell stories of his youth, days of way back when
He lived in the city and was a telephone salesman
But life in the city soon came to be too much
All that technology and he was out of touch
he knew without a doubt there was something better waiting here
In this barroom in Wyoming a couple cowboys drinking beer
In a barroom in Wyoming drinking cold Montana beer.
